NSU treatment by post - 7 days course - £44.50

This service is only for people who already know that they need treatment for non-specific urethritis (NSU). The service provides a convenient way to get the NSU treatment you need.

How long does it take for the NSU treatment to arrive?
If it's safe to do so, our doctors will generally prescribe NSU treatment for you the next working day and dispatch it to you as first class recorded delivery. You'll need to sign for the NSU treatment upon delivery.
Is this NSU treatment effective?
The very nature of NSU is that the exact cause of the urethral discomfort can't be diagnosed. While this NSU treatment should, if taken as instructed, combat the most likely causes of NSU, the treatment may not combat the cause of your specific NSU.
What other NSU treatment options are there?
Instead of taking your treatment as a single one-off dose, you could take a different antibiotic over a week. Both treatments tend to be very effective at treating the most common causes of NSU but neither treatment can be guaranteed to combat the cause of your specific NSU. Alternatively, because the nature of NSU is that the precise cause of the urethral infection hasn't be diagnosed, one option is to avoid treating the NSU for now and see if it gets better without treatment. Some people find that if they avoid excessive alcohol, sexual activity, masturbation, and long distance cycling their NSU disappears.
What are the potential side effects of this NSU treatment?
So that you can make an informed decision to request this service, you need to know that about the possible side effects. Like any medication, this antibiotic can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or an allergic rash. In addition this treatment can (but rarely) cause liver damage or blood clotting disorders. For a full list of some of the rarer side effects please consult the leaflet accompanying the medication.
Who should not take this NSU treatment?
You should not take this NSU treatment if you know you are allergic to azithromycin. This NSU treatment should also not be taken by pregnant or breast-feeding women, or those with liver or kidney disease.
Sex after treatment
You must refrain from having unprotected (no condom) sex for at least seven days after you have completed this course of NSU treatment.
